Meet the Team

The Inventors (left-to-right): David Harper, Adam Hokin, Vishaal Mali

Our Mission

Our mission is to give people one less excuse for not riding a bicycle. PedalCell is a journey-enabler, allowing cyclists to ride freely, untethered from outlets.

We didn’t let our small size stop us from building something nobody else would. Not many cyclists bought a power source due to their limitations. Dynamo generators were built on standards decades ago, with limited charge rates, complex installs, and eye-watering prices. Solar panels had too many variables to plan for a long bike adventure, requiring a calculated angle towards the sky and perfect weather. All the while, the bulky battery banks had an apparent conflict with the spontaneous and fun nature of bicycle touring. Nobody wants to plan around stop points to charge-up.

Our team of engineers (and bikers, of course!) set out to build a bicycle power source from the ground up. No shared components. No reference designs. We took the “clean-sheet” method:

- Patented electronics designed to last longer outdoors than any battery

- A generator 3X more powerful than alternatives

- Lines upon lines of code for USB Negotiation

- A design that could stand up to mother nature’s worst

- Install on any bike in minutes.

Yeah… we really made it easy for ourselves.

We used the best tools available. Solidworks and Ansys to design our mechanics, Altium for our electronics, and tens upon tens of thousands of miles of testing in the lab and outdoors. Then, 5 years later, PedalCell emerged. It leapfrogged all alternatives with a robust and integrated design.

The point of our product is not to stand-out, but to fade into the background and allow you to focus on what truly matters: getting out there and biking. Explore new places where you couldn’t go before with the assurance that you won’t need to interrupt your adventure with a charge session at a coffee shop. Enjoy nature the way it was meant to: untethered and unplugged. We’re not trying to build the next Fortune 500. At heart, we’re engineers that are making cool stuff to give you one more reason to bike.

Thanks to Power. By You.
